Former Alaska governor, Sarah Palin, is addressing College of Ozarks on December 2, 2009. Interestingly, the officials have strictly banned media personnel from attending her address. The college’s public relation director, Elizabeth Andrews, has briefed the press media about the event and has told that only those press correspondents who acquired free tickets to the event in October will be able to attend the address. The tickets were issued in October on first-come-first-basis. She also mentioned that no one will be allowed to record the audio or video of the event proceedings during her visit to College of Ozarks. Sarah Palin will also sign the copies of her book ‘Going Rogue’ at the Borders store in Springfield before addressing the students at the College of Ozarks.
As the news of this media ban is circulating on internet, many are making speculations on this strange decision. Considering her past, her decision seems odd and has made many thinking that her speech might have some controversial content. But the fact is contrary to the rumors. It is being said officially that the ban is a part of her contract with the college administration.
The Public Relations officer of College of Ozarks has also reported that both the governor and the administration have mutually agreed upon the decision.
It has also been reported that the former vice-presidential nominee and Alaska governor would be speaking on citizenship, civic engagement of youth, and the spirit of patriotism.
