Latest News Update American Idol Winners Season 18:Tonight’s special 2-hour edition of American Idol was the 2010 season’s grand finale. It would mean the launching of a music career for the winner and the exit of the most famous of the Idol judges.

That departing judge is none other than Simon Cowell. He did get a bit emotional as he was payed tribute to throughout the night. There were various performances by the likes of Chicago, Michael McDonald, Janet Jackson, Christina Aguilera and Bret Michaels.

Even General Larry Platt and good ol’ William Hung showed up to perform. The American Idol winners for seasons 1-8 were in attendance for Simon. But we really want to know who won American Idol tonight – Lee or Crystal?
