Roatán, located between the islands of Útila and Guanaja  (16°23?N 86°25?W? / ?16.38°N 86.42°W? / 16.38; -86.42), is the largest of Honduras’ Bay Islands. The island was formerly known as Ruatan and Rattan. It is approximately 60 kilometres (37 mi) long, and less than 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) wide at its widest point.

The island consists of two municipalities (out of a total of four in the department): Jose Santos Guardiola in the east (named for the former president of Honduras) and Roatán (also including the Cayos Cochinos) further south in the west.

The most populous town of the island is Coxen Hole, capital of Roatán municipality, located in the southwest. Other important towns include French Harbour, West End, and Oak Ridge, the capital of Jose Santos Guardiola municipality. read more

Very recently another beautiful painting made by the historical painter, Leonardo Da Vinci, has come on the front scene. Although people knew that such painting existed but not much people had seen it before. The painting was undergoing a sort of preservation. Usually when paintings undergo this process, all the beauty is ruined. But people were relieved to see that the painting didn’t change much after the restoration and maintained its original beauty. The name of this amazing painting is Virgin of the Rocks.

The painting has been displayed in the National Gallery. The painting was extremely beautiful. It shows the Virgin and her beauty says a lot in this painting. Every brush on the painting seemed so perfect. The painting has so much depth in it and it easily says a lot. It was earlier believed that the painting was made by Da Vinci and some of his assistants but now after seeing the perfection of the painting; there is no doubt in the fact that the painting has been made by Leonardo Da Vinci alone. The beauty of the painting has been enhanced by the cleaning process. After all the cleaning it became easier to praise the beauty of this timeless painting and all those who have not looked the painting, yet. Do go and have a look at it. Mark Becker:he ESPY Awards 2010, held on 14 July, Ed Thomas family received the Arthur Ashe Courage Award, because they showed mercy and to forgive the family, Mark Becker. It was a great thing they have done for the family man who killed Thomas. It was a great honor that they have received, as previously, this award was presented to celebrities such as Nelson Mandela, Pat Tillman and Muhammad Ali.

Former player Mark Becker Coach Ed Thomas was killed last year in the room of football spectator. But the family of Thomas showed mercy and proved their ability to forgive. Ed family came to the stage after a tribute video and video features of his life and achievements. It was an attempt to explain his life, before presenting the award to his family. Mark’s family also had to submit, and they applaud the family Ed from their seats. Wife of Thomas John and his two sons received awards and one of his sons said: “Without faith, I do not think that any way we could survive this tragedy.

Having seen Keith Barry interviewed during the year on Tonight with Craig Doyle, I had some idea of what to expect from the mentalist in his new show ‘The Asylum.’ What I didn’t expect was to be greeted outside the Olympia by Max – a man in an orange jumpsuit and facemask reminiscent of the one which was made famous in Silence of the Lambs. From that point on, it was clear that this show was going to be something quite out of the ordinary, even for Barry.

The first thing that surprised me was the presence of a support act. Having entered the theatre, the audience were asked to take their seats, and were warmed up by the dulcet tones of up-and-coming Carlow-based band Cleere.  Playing a 4-song set, including their new single Sick Day, they were undoubtedly a crowd pleasing, feel good troupe, which made everyone relax slightly in what was a very tense atmosphere.

As the show’s name suggests, its content revolves around psychiatric institutions from the 1800s, their inmates and the horrific ‘treatments’ to which they were subjected. Before Barry took to the stage, to thunderous applause, a video was played which showed images of these inhumane treatments and also some of the people who were forced to endure them, really adding to the atmosphere. read more

The story that has enthralled UFO fans around the world over the last few days just got a lot bigger. On the 6th of June a UFO was seen over the Hangzhou Airport in China by tower staff and others causes flights to be grounded. News of the event quickly spread through Chinese UFO forums and then around the world via mainstream media outlets.

Now dozens of witnesses are coming forward to media outlets, including this publication,with as of yet unseen snapshots of the UFO that are sure to amaze (see video below for the photos we have been sent)

Air China crew have come forward saying they saw the UFO while in the air above a nearby airport. Some crew described the UFO as ‘magic and alien’.
The president of the Beijing UFO Society, Professor Zhu Xiaoqiang, has been flown into Hangzhou by government officials to help investigate the event. read more

Glenn Ong:Yeo’s ex-husband, MediaCorp deejay Glenn Ong, confirmed the pregnancy, saying the ESPN Star Sports presenter had sent him an SMS him on Monday to apologise for hurting him as well as to share the news of her pregnancy. Yeo, 33, may be in for a high-risk pregnancy as she suffers from renal agenesis, a condition that caused her to be born with only one kidney and had affected her reproductive system. Read More;

New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner died Tuesday of a heart attack at his Tampa home. In his decades running one of the world’s most renowned teams (his Bronx Bombers notched seven World Series pennants since his 1973 purchase of the club), Steinbrenner, 80 years old at his death, transcended sports to become a pop culture icon.

FanHouse writes: “Not long into his ownership, a New York tabloid coined the nickname ‘The Boss,’ and it not only stuck, but Steinbrenner liked it.”

Steinbrenner liked the characterization, and ‘Seinfeld’ loved it — the mega-hit ’90s sitcom featured a recurring portrayal of The Boss, with Larry David voicing the larger-than-life Yanks owner. Wink 104:Wink 104 News director, John Beaston, was found dead on Monday morning at his apartment. News was confirmed by people who were looking for him after he didn’t show up for work. Beaston worked along Denny Logan and Sue Campbell at the “Wink Wake Up Show”.
